Creative Writing Essay

Image result for a day at beach
A place away from home
Analyzing, a typical day at the beach; siblings building sandcastles or swimming in the water, mothers getting their perfect golden tans and young couples snapping pictures for their Instagrams. Curiously there was always that one little kid that stood out, like a highlighter in a pack of crayons. Today it was that little boy light brown hair, pale skin you could tell he was used to this type of weather by the way his blue eyes glisten when the burning sun strikes his eyes. He stood there, captivated by the ocean’s beauty.

Within the time he stood there you could see the want in his eyes like a lion that spotted their prey... It looked like the clear glistening water had intrigued him. His petite figure starts to run towards the water. Burning sand sticking slowly upon his legs as the young boy enters the ocean. Swish, as he submerges within the water. A big bright wide smirk appears across his face while he arises from the water.

You can tell by the expression on the young boy's face that this is what he declares as wonderland. I’m not one to assume, but you could see he was going to grow up to be in an industry involving the sea; a lifeguard, a fisherman, A scuba diver or maybe even a professional surfer.

His thin legs splashing around. Suddenly you could observe and merely overhear his mother calling out to him, “Hun, we need to go now."His facial expression suddenly dropped you could hear him reply with his gentle southern voice “But mum.” “No buts we need to go it’s getting dark and I need to cook tea” “Fine” the young boy yelled in response with an eye roll.

He had taken his time walking back to his mother, stomping his fragile legs on the sand with every step he took. When he finally got back to his mother and dried off, he simply asked his mother. “Why did dad get taken by the waves?”. She unambiguously replied with. “Hunny you might not understand this right now, but your father was a brave man and saved many lives on this beach.” The boy then mumbled.“I know mum” with an eye roll of frustration. As the young boy was just about to leave, he turned around one last time and said: “I will see you, tomorrow dad, I love you.” A tear trickled down his precious cheek you could examine the hurt in his eyes. At this point, I had realised why he was so thrilled to be in the sea. Because it was where he felt most intimate to his father.

As they hop in their bright green Sedan about to leave. The young boy quickly rushes out the shabby car, with a silver necklace wrapped in his frail hand. His small frame sprinting to the trackless ocean. As he gets closer and closer, he starts to take slow dreaded breaths. When he eventually builds up the courage, he kisses the silver necklace one last time, He than dreadfully places it into the ocean. The young boy than watches with pain and frustration as the sliver neckless is swept into the deep blue sea. A final “I love you” is said.
